Michigan Native Ellen Burstyn Urges Residents to Vote NO on Proposals 1 and 2

Actress announces support of efforts to stop Michigan’s wolf hunt

(Oct. 30, 2014) – Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn has announced her support of the campaign to stop the trophy hunting of wolves and the power grab by politicians in Michigan. She urges voters to vote NO on Proposals 1 and 2 on November 4. Burstyn issued the following statement:

“Having been born and raised in The Great Lake State – among America's most beautiful landscapes and compassionate people – I was floored to learn from my friends at The Humane Society of the United States that wolves – one of the most celebrated species in our nation and having faced near extinction – are now in the crosshairs of trophy hunters in Michigan. I am proud to announce my allegiance to the Keep Michigan Wolves Protected campaign and implore my fellow Michiganders to vote NO on Proposals 1 and 2 on November 4. We must work to preserve nature and all of her inhabitants. Trophy hunting these majestic animals would be a true stain on our state's history.”
