Michigan Political Points: Veronica Mars investigates wolf hunt ballot proposals

Kristen Bell, the Michigan-born actress best known as the voice of Anna in "Frozen" and her titular role as teen detective "Veronica Mars," is speaking out about wolf hunting proposals set to appear on the November 4 general ballot.

WOLF WATCH: Bell this week endorsed the Keep Michigan Wolves Protected ballot committee, which is urging Michigan voters toreject two hunting-related laws by voting “no” on Proposal 1 and 2.

“As a Michigan native, I appreciate the beauty and wilderness that exists in the Upper Peninsula, which is home to fewer than 650 gray wolves. After being hunted almost to the point of extinction, they are part of the ecosystem again but that progress is being threatened,” Bell said.

Wolf hunt advocates say the ballot proposals are moot because of a third law set to take effect next year. But opponents are rolling out television commercials this week and say they will challenge the newer law in court.
